Welcome to Wellbeing Unleashed
What if emotional wellbeing is not something you have to create, achieve or hold onto?
Much of our struggle with emotions begins not simply with what we feel, but with what we believe those feelings mean — and with our attempts to change, control, avoid or get rid of them.
Anxiety needs to stop.
Sadness needs to lift.
Uncertainty needs to be resolved.
Other people need to behave differently.
Life needs to change.
And somewhere beneath all of this is often the same quiet assumption:
When this is different, then I’ll be able to feel okay.
Wellbeing Unleashed explores what happens when we begin to question that assumption.
Rather than teaching you how to control your emotions more effectively, it invites you to look more closely at the relationship you already have with them — and at the effort, resistance and conditions that can make difficult feelings seem even more significant.
Discover what may really be happening
As you explore the ideas in Wellbeing Unleashed, you’ll begin to look at:
why struggling against an emotion can often intensify it;
why attempts to secure certainty, control or reassurance can sometimes create more unease;
how feelings become linked to circumstances, people and outcomes;
what you may really be hoping to gain from the things you pursue, avoid or try to change;
how peace of mind can begin to look conditional without us ever consciously deciding that it should be;
and what becomes possible when some of those conditions are seen more clearly.
The aim is not to become permanently calm, positive or unaffected by life.
You will still experience the full range of being human.
The difference is that emotions no longer have to be treated as problems that must be solved before you can be okay.
A different way of looking
Wellbeing Unleashed draws upon psychological insight alongside perspectives found within traditions such as Zen, Taoism and the Three Principles.
But there is nothing here that you are required to believe.
The invitation is simply to look for yourself.
To notice what happens when peace of mind is placed on the other side of a condition.
To notice the effort involved in trying to get there.
And perhaps to discover that what you have been seeking through so many different routes may not have been as far away as it appeared.
You may begin to experience greater ease in the face of difficult emotions, less need to control every internal experience, and more freedom to respond to life as it actually is rather than continually trying to make it feel safe enough to live.
Wellbeing Unleashed is not about becoming a better version of yourself.
It is an invitation to see more clearly what has been getting in the way of the wellbeing that may already be far more available than you imagined.
